Abby Newell

Office Manager

I grew up in Richmond, Virginia and attended Appalachian State University for 2 years where I was a scholarship field hockey player. I then transferred to Queens University of Charlotte where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education and Promotion while also being a scholarship field hockey player. After graduation I worked as a coach for the local club team Ambush Field Hockey. I then got a job as an Assistant to the Athletic Director and Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Notre Dame of Maryland University. Additionally I was an Interim Sports Information Director. Once COVID started I felt drawn to the healthcare field and started as an office manager for Ascend Health focusing on bridging the gap in the opioid epidemic throughout Charlotte. This was where I grew a passion for helping patients that are going through a tough time and giving them the tools to better themselves every day. I am grateful to have taken this passion of serving patients to Pin Point where I can continue my growing career and inspiring patients every day.

Core Values

Work ethic and integrity are important core values in my life. By showing up every day, working hard and doing it with the best intentions the rest will take care of itself. Also, having a sense of humor and being able to laugh throughout the day is how you create a culture that people want to be a part of.

‘There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.’
— Colin Powell

I am responsible for giving exceptional customer service to every patient that walks in the door and making every patient feel special and a part of the Pin Point family. Sometimes in the physical therapy world patients can be treated as a number. It is my goal to ensure that every patient feels appreciated and never dismissed for speaking how they feel. Pin Point is special because our providers listen to how patients are feeling and we work one on one to ensure the best experience is given to each individual.

My favorite thing about working for Pin Point is of course the patients that always put a smile on my face and seeing the confidence that they gain when they start to feel pain free and being able to continue doing the things they love to do. I also love being in a supportive environment where I am not only challenged in my position but also pushed to be a better version of myself.

What is Abby Watching, Reading or Listening To?

I love reading my favorite books being Harry Potter, Fourth Wing, and It Ends With Us. My favorite movies are any Disney movie, Avatar, and Lord of the Rings. Favorite shows include Game of Thrones, The Office, and the Mandalorian. Podcasts include the Why files, true crime and any audiobook.

When I am not working I love reading a good book or hiking around the Charlotte area with my two amazing dogs Zeke and Bella and my husband, Mitch. We enjoy attending sporting events in the Charlotte area. We both love traveling our favorite places include Charleston, Savannah, and Greenville. Anywhere tropical is also a bonus.
